Within the EDA, the Capabilities Directorate works on issues related to the development of defence capabilities, in particular on harmonising military requirements; the Directorate works to deliver concrete achievements and new capabilities, directly enhancing the effectiveness of Member States' militaries.
Activities are related to different elements of capabilities, from training to concepts and equipment. Capabilities’ work is subdivided in six capability areas, grouped in three capability management areas: Knowledge (Command and Information); Engagement (Engage and Protection) and Manoeuvre (Deploy and Sustain).
