Launch of EBB Industry Contract Opportunities during EDA's Steering Board meeting, Brussels 29th March 2007 |
|
A new business portal offering companies of all sizes the chance to take advantage of increased cross-border opportunities in defence procurement was launched by the European Defence Agency today with the backing of Europe’s defence industry.
The Launch of the system was conducted jointly between EDA and ASD, during the Agency’s Steering Board (meeting in National Armaments Directors formation), at which ASD's President participated. The event was underpinned by a robust media and communication strategy.
The second phase of the Electronic Bulletin Board will allow companies awarded contracts by governments for the supply of defence equipment to advertise sub-contracting opportunities to businesses based in the 24 countries[1] subscribing to the inter-governmental regime on defence procurement, which was launched on 1 July last year.
Underpinning this is The Code of Best Practice in the Supply Chain which promotes the evaluation and selection of suppliers on a fair and equitable basis built around shared core values of fairness, honesty, openness, efficiency, effectiveness, professionalism and maintaining the highest levels of integrity, impartiality and objectivity..
