Workshop on Energy & Environment and 5th Progress Meeting of Energy Supply for Camps - 22-23 March 2012

  • 22 March 2012 to 23 March 2012
  • Brussels BELGIUM
  • 07:00 - 15:00

Energy & Environment is playing an increasingly important role in crisis management. Not only does this result in saving lives and increasing operational effectiveness, addressing these issues also reduces costs and overall environmental impact.

With the drive behind Energy and Environment coming from the civilian community, it is important to launch efforts addressing crisis management specific aspects that are not covered by the civilian activities.

The workshop scheduled for 22 March 2012 is the continuation of EDA and pMS efforts on Energy and Environment under the umbrella Military Green. The aim is to establish a methodology for identifying which areas (in particular with regard to water, waste, munitions and materials) warrant more attention from the crisis management and defence sectors. This workshop is open to industry and the envisaged attendees are civ/mil engineers, researchers and capability experts (including logisticians) in the following fields: energy; waste; water; munitions; materials; logistics and supply chain management.

The workshop will be held back-to-back with the fifth progress meeting of the Energy Supply for Camps Working Group – restricted to Member States only.

The programme of both events is available here.
