PURPOSE OF THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
The EDA seeks to enhance its understanding of the current capabilities and innovations within the UAS sector, specifically for dual-use applications in defence and commercial settings. This initiative aims to:
- Engage with the market: Understand existing and emerging UAS technologies and their dual-use capabilities.
- Promote transparency and competition: To encourage a fair and competitive environment and allow ample preparation time for suppliers.
- Refine procurement strategies: Gain industry insights to inform future procurement processes and strategies of Member States, potentially streamlining these procedures.
- Identify potential suppliers: Preliminarily identify solutions and suppliers, enabling more efficient future procurements.
SCOPE OF INFORMATION SOUGHT
The EDA invites submissions on the following aspects:
- Aircraft specifications: Detailed technical and operational specifications of UAS, including aspects related to:
- payload,
- automation and redundancy,
- communications, data and cybersecurity,
- logistics and personnel,
- operational experience,
- and any other dual-use capabilities.
- Manufacturers and suppliers: Information on companies involved in the production and supply of UAS suitable for dual-use applications.
- Innovative solutions: Insights into emerging technologies in the UAS sector that have potential dual-use applications.
ENGAGEMENT PROCESS
Interested parties are encouraged to express their interest by providing relevant information regarding their UAS offerings. This engagement aims to map the available solutions and evaluate the expertise within the industry, with a particular focus on the European Defence Technological Industrial Base.

This is not a call for tender – this RFI serves purely for market consultation and does not initiate a formal procurement process or signify an obligation to proceed with tendering.
Parties are welcome to share insights that would assist in refining EDA's procurement strategies.
Confidentiality: All submissions will be treated with confidentiality in accordance with EDA policies. Still, information shall be made available to Member States to enable the information cycle that might translate into procurement, operational experimentation or project related activities.
