1ST COORDINATION MEETING OF THE SYMBIOSIS ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS

“On 31 January 2024, in accordance with the grant agreement of the Symbiosis (Offshore Renewable Energy for Defence) project1 , EDA established the Advisory Board (AB) to assist the Project Management Team (PMT) in managing, monitoring, and implementing the project until 30 April 2025. The AB will serve as a consultative body with no executive or decision-making authority. In this context, EDA is inviting the AB members to participate in the first Advisory Board meeting, scheduled to coincide with the Annual Conference of WindEurope. 2 This meeting will take place at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC), address: Azkue Kalea, 1, - North Entrance - 48902 Barakaldo, Bizkaia, Spain, in Bilbao, on 20 March (10:30-20:00) and 21 March 2024 (09:30-17:00).

Meeting purpose

The purpose of this meeting is for the Symbiosis PMT to present the scope of the project, including objectives, events, deliverables, and timelines, as well as to update on the progress concerning the tender of the project “Fostering Co-Existence between Offshore Renewable Installations and Defence Activities” 3 . This will enable AB members to enhance their understanding of the project, advise the PMT on the overall direction and relevance of project outcomes, and support the assurance of high[1]quality outputs. Additionally, the AB will collaborate with the PMT to plan the organisation, milestones, and timelines of the five regional workshops intended to cover the entire EU’s maritime space (the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, and the Black Sea). Special focus will be placed on the preparation of the first regional workshop (scope, agenda, speakers, expected outcomes), scheduled to take place in Romania in early June 2024 to address the Black Sea region. As WindEurope hosts this event, AB members will also have the opportunity to visit WindEurope’s annual on- and offshore wind energy event. Anticipated to attract over 12,000 attendees, this event will feature dozens of conference sessions, hundreds of speakers, and more than 400 exhibitors from the entire value chain, showcasing their innovations.”
