Pieter de Crem - Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence - outlined his commitment to a more systematic and long term approach to European Defence cooperation, in his speech at the EDA Annual Conference today. He called for a "reinvigorated and strong European vision" of what role the EU wanted to assume in foreign policy and a commitment to pursue the military capabilities needed to underpin it.
