2017 was a pivotal year for European defence and for the European Defence Agency (EDA). The major initiatives launched in 2016 – the EU Global Strategy, the European Defence Action Plan and the EU-NATO Joint Declaration – were translated into concrete action, laying the groundwork for further developments in 2018.
