EDA strives to continuously improve in this area, mindful of the duty of transparency it has towards citizens of the European Union.

Ethics and conduct  

Independence and exemplary professional conduct are crucial for ensuring high standards and excellence for the work of the European Defence Agency. EDA operates in accordance with the principles set out in the Code of Good Administrative Behaviour and in cooperation with the European Ombudsman. Data protection 

EDA is committed to the protection of personal data it processes in the context of its activities. As set out in Article 31 of Council Decision (CFSP) 2015/1835 EDA is subject to Regulation (EU) 2018/1725. EDA, its controllers, the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) all contribute to the application of the Regulation at the Agency. Please find more information under Data protection.

Access to documents 

EDA is subjects to the rules laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 on public access to documents as per Article 30 of Council Decision (CFSP) 2015/1835. Further information for citizens on access to EDA documents can be found under Access to documents.  

Language policy 

The European Defence Agency is committed to multilingualism and recognises the importance of communicating with EU citizens across the EU and of facilitating access to information in their respective languages as outlined in the EDA language policy
