Jorge Domecq visits Member States

Since taking up his duties as EDA Chief Executive in February 2015, Jorge Domecq has visited several Member States to discuss how EDA can support Member States’ efforts to improve defence capabilities through cooperation. So far, Mr. Domecq held high-level meetings in Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, Ireland, France, Romania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Finland, Sweden and Italy.  

The visits allowed Jorge Domecq to meet Defence Ministers, high-ranking officials in the Ministries of Defence and Ministries of Foreign Affairs as well as defence industry representatives. The main topics discussed were preparations of the upcoming European Council discussion on defence in June as well as ongoing and possible future cooperative projects. At the meetings Jorge Domecq confirmed the Agency’s aim to support Member States in filling pressing capability shortfalls.
