The objective is to help build modern and more homogenous fleets as this also facilitates the development of robust, sustainable logistic supply chains and more efficient life-cycle support. The same applies to indirect fire support systems and ground-based air defence.
EDA supports Members States to pursue activities that enhance Military Mobility. A better mobility of forces within and beyond the EU will strengthen European security by enabling the EU Members States to act faster, in line with their defence needs and responsibilities, both in the context of CSDP missions and operations, as well as national and multinational activities.
EDA helps Member States set up standardised logistic capabilities and centralised logistic facilities such as logistic hubs, medical treatment facilities or deployable and container-based field camps. New technologies, such as Additive Manufacturing (AM), are also explored by the Agency to improve the logistic support of forces in operations.
