Currently, the focus is put on improving naval forces’ maritime situational awareness through the MARSUR (Maritime Surveillance) project which also provides support to EU CSDP missions and operations, as well as on the implementation of the two 2018 European Capability Development Priorities in the maritime domain: Underwater Control and Naval Manoeuvrability. EDA’s maritime capability activities are closely coordinated with other relevant EU agencies such as the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) or the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats.
