PURPOSE OF THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
EDA seeks to enhance its understanding of the performance and characteristics of Airspace monitoring of non-collaborative aircraft and Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS), covering detection, tracking, classification, identification and neutralisation, and including command and control (C2), as well as associated operational and technical considerations related to their deployment.
This initiative aims to:
- Engage with the market: Understand existing and emerging Airspace and C-UAS technologies and their performances.
- Promote transparency: Ensure openness and information-sharing and encourage a fair and competitive environment.
- Refine procurement strategies: Gain industry insights to inform future procurement processes and strategies of Member States.
- Identify potential suppliers: Preliminarily identify solutions and suppliers, enabling more efficient future procurements.
- Identify and close gaps: Analyse gaps in systems and methodologies, and facilitate the development of cutting-edge, restorative solutions.
SCOPE OF INFORMATION SOUGHT
The EDA invites submissions on the following aspects:
- Solutions specifications: Detailed technical and operational specifications of airspace monitoring of non-collaborative aerial assets, and C-UAS, including aspects related to:
- System performance and characteristics,
- Deployment, integration and operational experience,
- Command and control,
- Production, lifecycle, security of supply, logistics and additional services,
- and additional information.
- Manufacturers and integrators: Information on companies involved in the production and supply the afore mentioned systems.
- Innovative solutions: Insights into emerging technologies in the airspace monitoring and C-UAS sector.
ENGAGEMENT PROCESS
Interested parties are encouraged to express their interest by providing relevant information regarding their offerings. This engagement aims to map the available solutions and evaluate the expertise within the industry, with a particular focus – but not limited to – the European Defence Technological Industrial Base.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Economic operators, developers and manufacturers of airspace and C-UAS solutions of any origin, regardless of their current access to the European Union market.

This is not a call for tender – this RFI serves purely for market consultation and does not initiate a formal procurement process or signify an obligation to proceed with tendering.
Parties are welcome to share insights that would assist in refining procurement strategies.
Confidentiality: All submissions will be treated with confidentiality in accordance with EDA policies. Still, information shall be made available to Member States to enable the information cycle that might translate into procurement, operational experimentation or project related activities.
EDA reserves the right to contact any submitter, directly or through its contractors, to request clarification, additional information, or verification of submitted materials.
