A delegation of Members of the Parliament, representing the Subcommittee on Security and Defence (a subcommittee of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs), visited EDA today.
Ms. Claude-France Arnould briefed the Parliament’s delegation on EDA’s Pooling & Sharing initiatives, namely those which might be considered by Defence Ministers at their Ministerial Steering Board on 30 November. Ms. Arnould stressed the importance of the European Parliament in keeping the political momentum of these cooperation initiatives. She said “the Parliament is a crucial political platform in bringing innovative ideas” and a key stakeholder to ensure a “high-level commitment and strong political direction” to pursuit cooperation at European level.
Ms Claude-France Arnould and the Members of the European Parliament had a fruitful exchange of views on cyrber-security, security research and working relations with NATO.
Ms.Claude-France Arnould will intervene at the SEDE on the 5th December.
