Ms. Arnould at the Chatham House Conference on European Defence Security 2012: Commitments, Capabilities and Cash

 

The European Defence Security 2012 conference: Commitments, Capabilities and Cash, a Chatham House’s conference on 23-24 January, discussed the current and possible future commitments facing Europe internally and internationally.

Ms. Arnould addressed the topic of “Europe’s Capabilities” on 23 January, and took part in the moderated panel discussion that closed the conference the following day. She drew attention to European capabilities and the way that the EDA could help address these through “Pooling & Sharing”; and the potential impact of the evolution of US policy on European capability requirements.

During her visit, Ms Arnould also had a meeting with Gerald Howarth MP, Minister for International Security Strategy to discuss EDA activities.
