Purpose of the processing |
The purpose of the CBRN Knowledgebase (CBRN KB) is to provide access to registered participants to verified and validated information and documents on CBRN Defence related topics. The information and documents provided are unclassified (open source). Personal data are processed to register participants to the CBRN KB. Registration is required for participants to be able to upload or download documents. The access to the CBRN KB is open to the public without registration.

Description of categories of persons whose data EDA processes and list of data categories |
Data are collected from the following individuals: governmental users, including points of contact and their deputies from contributing member states, as well as representatives from other member states or EU bodies who have shown interest in joining the project; non-governmental users, such as points of contact from contracted service providers; industry representatives involved in the project; and academia, including points of contact from research institutions and academic partners. The data categories processed for each individual are the following: rank, name and surname, email address, phone number, professional affiliation (employer) and nationality.

Time limit for keeping the data |
Personal data will be kept as long as needed to serve the purpose for which they have been collected, which is to provide registered participants with access to the CBRN KB and the possibility to upload or download documents, or until the data subject (a registered participants) indicates that he/she wants the data to be deleted. In any case, the personal data collected, and the database will be deleted at the termination of the relevant activities and CBRN defence projects.

Internal recipients:
- EDA CAP Directorate, Land and Logistics Unit staff members
- IT Unit staff members
- other EDA Operational Units staff members that may be involved in the project
External recipients:

JCBRN Defence COE members, contracted services providers, supporting EU bodies and representatives of participating Member States that may join the project on a need-to-know basis.

General description of security measures, where possible. |
EDA has implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures (firewalls, checkpoints, antivirus) to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risks represented by the processing and the nature of the personal data to be protected. Such measures have been taken in particular to prevent any unauthorised disclosure or access, accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, or alteration and to prevent all others unlawful forms of processing.
